I think this year my word is persevere. It’s been on my mind a lot the past several months.
To persevere means not to give up in the face of difficulties or opposition.
The goals I have set for the homestead and me personally(I’ll share in a later post) will require perseverance. Getting through the next few months, years will require perseverance. It’s going to be difficult but I know good hearts will make it!
Perseverance also takes mindfulness and a willingness to not give up on your goals no matter what. I think it’s helpful to physically write out what your goals are so you can look at them from time to time and see how you are doing. It’s ok if you don’t meet them all. But at least write them out and do as many as you can physically, financially and emotionally. Goals are great ways to organize your thoughts and to feel like you are making progress. At the end of 2025 you can look back and see how many you accomplished.
I think this is especially helpful if you have a bent towards disorganization or even depression. I struggle lately with motivation so I’m hoping having my goals in writing will give me some direction and motivation.
I will blog this year about the goals we meet or don’t meet. I think that too will give me motivation and help me stay on task.
Until next time…
Stay safe!
